The Bnapoli.com Tribute to Taz Steinfeld

In 1994, young Daniel and myself were just young bucks. At that time we were in the 2nd grade and loving it. Best friends since we first met, Dan and I pretty much spent every single day in each others presence. Making fun of goofy kids in elementary school and spending almost every weekend doing something wild. I remember the day that Dan bought his dog Taz, he was just a little puppy back then and was instantly Dan's best friend and loyal companion. Of all the people that knew Taz, I was probably the third most seen person in Taz's 9 year life. He was welcomed into open arms at the Steinfeld estate, and he couldn't have had better people to take care of him. When he was 1 years old, he was just a little pup, always running around Dan's house making trouble and jumping around like it was nobody's business. He was the first dog that I really knew in this town, as funny as it sounds. Personally, I don't have any pets because my dad is allergic to pet hair, so Taz was like the pet I never had. Taz was around in almost every event that occured with Dan and I. Taz grew fast and it wasn't long before he was at 100 pounds and still energetic as ever. Taz was a dog that everybody loved because he was so clean and fun, he wouldn't just lay around and be a sloth. As we got older, Taz started coming to our soccer games, our referee games, and pretty much anywhere that Dan and I were. Mr. Steinfeld was always by Tazzy's side and everyone that ever knew Taz absolutely loved him. Taz was the perfect dog for dan and they were almost like twins. I specifically remember a party that Dan had at his house around 6th or 7th grade where Taz was playing with us in our WWF Wrestling matches on the couch at Dan's dads house. We were all in the heat of the battle, fighting and doing powerbombs and beating each other up just because we were kids with energy and it was midnight on a Friday night. Taz was wrestling with us, going wild and knocking people down just like he was another one of our friends that couldn't speak english and had a little bit more hair than the rest of us. He would never bite or bark or growl, he would just play and have fun and wouldn't let us beat him up. Taz was a really tough dog throughout his entire life. As I was saying, during the fight, I remember everybody (10 or 11 of us) stopping the wrestling and laughed hysterically. I didn't know what was going on because I was smothering Matt Rush with a pillow, so I turned to look. Taz was up on Brendan Puco's back trying to hump him while he was wrestling with Dan. It was probably the fondest memory I have of good old Taz because he was there to protect Dan and I guess he figured humping him was the best means of attack. It worked, Brendan ran out of the room like a white guy out of Harlem. The laughing continued for the rest of our days with Taz, where we would play and enjoy his presence. Towards the later part of Tazzy's life, he would come with us in Dan's dads van to the movies, miniature golfing and wherever we were headed. He was always around and he was always ready to play. He was a dog that anybody would love to have and I loved him because of it. Towards the end of Tazzy's life, he was a big lazy hog just like Dan and I. He would lay in the grass with us, eat with us, and just hang out and be a hog like us. You could always tell that Taz was a happy dog, he didn't have an unhappy moment as long as he lived. Everyone that got to meet Taz was delighted by his presence and I personally loved having him around for 9 fun years. Taz was fun, loyal, and a really cool dog to know. I'll always remember him as more than a dog but as a friend. For all of you that knew Taz, you know what I'm talking about.
