Understanding the Allies Page :: 10.22.06

There are so many things to say about this page that I don't even think I'm ready to start talking about it yet. This page made people laugh, made people happy, made people angry, and to some people, it just plain confused them. Was I trying to show how many friends I have? Trying to prove I was cool or something? These types of questions didn't really cross my mind when I started making the Allies page back in 2003. To be quite honest with you, I'm not exactly sure what I was thinking, I just wanted to make the page. I never tried to leave people out, I never tried to make anybody upset, I just thought the same type of thing that Mark Zuckerberg did; I just wasn't old enough to think globally, I didn't know how to program Active Server Pages or MySQL databases, and I wasn't going to Harvard. I simply wanted a way to connect my friends, show why all of them were so great, and have a good time doing it. What I had was a computer, a 16 year old imagination, a camera, and a hometown to enjoy some great times in. My tools were limited, but I found a way to make something out of it.

So today, Sunday the 22nd of October 2006... I'm bringing the Allies back for another poke in the belly. One year, seven months and six days after the Allies page was retired, Three years, two months, and seventeen days after it was originally made available to the world. Ladies and gentlemen, take a step back to the Bury. Visit all of us, back then. Take a walk down the hallways of Pomperaug, stroll to your locker bay, take shots in bathroom, jack cookies from the snack counter, or do whatever you have to do to go back to how things were in high school. I have left this page 100% unchanged from its final debut. To new visitors, this might not mean too much, but to the old school bnapoli.com viewers this is a trip into the past. Enjoy.

The Allies page was released on August 5, 2003.
It was live on bnapoli.com for 1 year, 7 months and 11 days
The Allies page was retired on March 16, 2005.
1 year, 7 months and 6 days before it's re-release.
The Allies page returned on October 22, 2006.
3 years, 2 months, 17 days after it's original debut.

Retired :: 3.16.05

The Allies page was a very meaningful page to me and an important chapter in the existance of my website. It gave me a chance to make note of and honor my closest friends in appreciation of the happiness they bring me. But now it is time to close the chapter of childhood and open the door to the future. So today, I'll retire the Allies page and begin the movement forward with my website into new possibilities.
